Lebanon’s Economic Leaders Visit Spexal: A Showcase of Local Innovation in Robotics

July 11, 2024

We were honored to welcome a distinguished delegation to Spexal's headquarters in Zalqa, Lebanon. The visit included former Minister and President of the Economic Bodies Mohammad Choucair, President of the Lebanese Investors Union Jacques Sarraf, President of the Professional Computer Association (PCA) Camille Moukarzel, and Secretary-General of the Economic Bodies Alphonse Dib.

They were received by Spexal co-founders Ziad Chelala and Khalil El Rai, who led a comprehensive presentation highlighting Spexal's robotics production capabilities, international partnerships, most notably with BMW Group, and the company's focus on exporting high-performance robotics solutions to the most demanding European markets.

During the meeting, the co-founders also discussed their plans to expand into new markets.

Support from Lebanon’s Economic Leaders

Mohammad Choucair praised the vision and innovation of Chelala and El Rai, calling their achievements “a source of national pride” and “an inspiration for Lebanese youth to pursue careers in advanced technology.” He reaffirmed the commitment of Lebanon’s Economic Bodies to support Spexal and other youth-led initiatives in knowledge and tech-driven sectors, emphasizing that this field is a pillar for the future of Lebanon’s economy.

Jacques Sarraf also commended Spexal’s pioneering efforts and called on the company to expand locally, noting that many factories in Lebanon are ready for technological transformation. He assured that the Lebanese Investors Union stands fully behind such initiatives, recognizing them as critical to economic development and national resilience.

A Tour of Innovation

The visit concluded with a tour of Spexal’s facilities, where guests were shown ongoing projects, robotic designs, and the engineering processes behind the company’s cutting-edge solutions.

At Spexal, we are proud to be a symbol of Lebanese innovation, building robotics that compete globally and pushing the boundaries of what local talent can achieve.

Stay tuned as we continue to grow, innovate, and put Lebanon on the global robotics map.
